Magnus Paajarvi-Svenssons family moved to Malmo, a southern metropol of Sweden, when he was four years old so that is where he skated for the first time.

Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson attended Malmo Redhawks Ice Hockey School for the first time when he was six years old. Since then Magnus Paajarvi-Svenssons life has revolved around the game of ice hockey.

He played as a defenseman until he was twelve years old. He has played as a forward ever since.

As a 14-year old he was one of the stars in Team Skane when they reached the finals in the classical swedish youth tournament TV-Pucken. The same season Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson made his debut in Team Sweden U-16 and Malmo Redhawks U-20.

The next season he broke the scoring record in Team Sweden U-16 with 18 points in just ten games.

Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson made his debut for Timra IK in Elitserien on September 24th, 2007 as the fourth youngest player in the league ever. He made his first assist in the first period of his first game.

At the age of 16 he was the youngest swedish player ever to play in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He was also the youngest player in the tournament since Sidney Crosby made his debut for Team Canada in 2004. He scored in his debut game (against Denmark) and returned home with a silver medal.

His first goal in Elitserien was a game winner for Timra IK against HV71 (1-0) on February 16th, 2008.

Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson has appeared in every game for Timra IK in Elitserien during the 2008/2009 season except while away to play in the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Canada. He reached 17 points (7+10) in 50 games for Timra IK in Elitserien.

With his tough playing style, Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson was the center of attention during the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship in Ottawa, Canada. He reached 7 points in six games in the tournament.

Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson set a new Swedish record in the World U18 Campionships in Fargo, USA, in april 2009 where he reached twelve points (6+6) in six games. He also holds the record in total scores in U18 with 17 points (8+9) in two tournaments.

Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson was drafted by Edmonton Oilers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, held June 26th-27th, 2009, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was the #10 pick in the first round.

He was also happy that Anton Lander, his teammate in Timra IK and the national U18 team, was picked by Edmonton Oilers as well. Anton Lander was the #40 pick in the scenond round.

Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson is the little brother of Bjorn Svensson who also plays for Timra IK.
